A six-figure compensation settlement has been secured for a student who was seriously injured when his motorbike was hit by a car.
The accident happened when the car suddenly pulled out of a side road into his path. He was unable to avoid hitting it and was knocked from his motorbike, suffering serious lower limb injuries. He was airlifted to hospital and underwent two surgeries on his leg. The driver of the car was subsequently found guilty of causing serious injury by careless driving.
The young man was unable to sit his A-levels and suffered ongoing pain that made it difficult to him to concentrate. Although he was able to start university after deferring his place to focus on his rehabilitation, he continued to suffer from mobility issues.
He brought a claim against the driver of the car and a settlement was negotiated. The damages will help pay for the physiotherapy he needs as well as compensating him for his pain and suffering and the impact on his studies.
